When I started working in acrylics a few years ago, a whole new world of possibilities opened up. While I love the precision of pen and ink and the fluidity of watercolour, I have found that acrylic allows me more freedom of expression. While I have done a few loose abstract paintings, I find that the images I have created from nature really capture my imagination and I feel grounded and at peace, both while painting them and also while looking at them. I hope you experience the same.

There is so much beauty here in Vancouver and the surrounding area there is certainly no shortage of subject matter. One of the commissioned paintings that was interesting for me to complete was of the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State. Having never been there myself, I relied on images I found on the internet. My client was very specific that the scene looked west over the river, it had to be at sunset with a pink sky and the grassy bowl had to be crowded with concert goers. I think the result was pretty cool and my client was delighted.

If you have a photo from a favourite holiday spot, a special place that evokes wonderful memories, a garden or scene, I would love to create a painting for you. Commissions are gratefully received.
