I am a local artist who was born and raised in Vancouver. I have adapted certain skills and ideas for my art from attending a variety of classes but am mainly self-taught and have developed my own definite style in combining line drawings with watercolour. I began a few years ago with simple pen and ink drawings of beach scenes and gardens. These earlier drawings led to requests for particular scenes, the odd antique car and then requests grew for house portraits and to date I have completed dozens of them.

While these requests have grown in number, I think my skills improve with each drawing executed. Great attention is given to even the smallest detail and the finished works have a character and life of their own. I work primarily from photographs, either current or from a previous time and, through discussions with a client, I can determine the desired finished look of a project. Sometimes with the passage of time a home or the surroundings have changed, but I am able to recreate the way things may have been by taking a little “artistic license” and altering things to suit a memory.

I am now also working in acrylics, both on canvas and wood panels. I am enjoying the vibrancy of the colour and the versatility of this medium in creating larger works.  Commissions are welcomed for house portraits, pet portraits and wedding bouquet portraits or any other desired scene or subject matter. I’m always keen to try something new, push my imagination and creativity to another level and see what happens. The creative process is very interesting, sometimes challenging and in the end, always satisfying.
